Dr. Crane has set the program up to provide services outside of a traditional insurance only practice. Dr. Crane’s goal is to provide you with the BEST possible medical care without constraints. The program allows Dr. Crane to spend more time with each patient, enhance patient access and improve coordination with other healthcare providers and facilities.
- How would I benefit from becoming a member of Atlantic Internal Medicine Plus? Membership in the program offers more time and better access to Dr. Crane. You will receive a thoughtful and conscientious care plan. We’ll personalize all testing, procedures and treatments and follow through on all of the details. We have a generous cash pay policy for uninsured or high deductible plan patients. Overall, we will save you both time and money. Patients in AIM Plus don’t waste time sitting in our waiting room, they get prompt and timely care. They have fewer Urgent Care and Emergency Department visits. They also have fewer hospital admissions and readmissions.
- What about referrals to specialists? As an independent practitioner, Dr. Crane has no ties to any corporation that would influence referrals. Having practiced medicine in this community since 2000, he has broad knowledge of specialists in this area as well as regional and University referral centers. He will find the best doctor for you.

- Do I have to join Atlantic Internal Medicine Plus to receive care from Dr. Crane? Yes. Dr. Crane only sees patients who are enrolled in Atlantic Internal Medicine Plus.
- What is the cost of the Annual Membership Fee? The Annual Membership Fee varies by age group. Please call us at (910) 754–8921 or email us at [email protected] for current rates.
- How is my age determined? Your age on December 31st of the prior year is your plan year age. For instance, your age on December 31st, 2021 determines your 2022 rate.
- What are my options for paying the Annual Membership Fee? You may pay the Annual Membership Fee on an annual basis or in monthly installments. If you pay in full when you sign up for the entire calendar year and again in subsequent years, we offer an annual discount. We accept bank drafts, checks, and most credit cards. Monthly fees can only be paid by automatic withdrawal from a savings or checking account or credit card and are deducted one month in advance. For instance, February’s payment covers March’s services.
- Is the Annual Membership Fee refundable? If you pay the Annual Membership Fee in full, it is not refundable. If you make monthly payments, your payments will end on the calendar month prior to the month you leave the practice. The Patient Agreement contains further details.
- Is a membership in Atlantic Internal Medicine Plus considered a medical cost for tax purposes? Yes, the Annual Membership Fee is a medical expense and therefore can be tax deductible or can be covered by flex spending. We recommend that you talk with your tax professional if you have tax questions.
- Will my insurance pay the Annual Membership Fee? Atlantic Internal Medicine Plus provides non-covered services; therefore insurance does not cover your Annual Membership Fee. We will continue to bill your insurance carrier for all covered services such as office visits and labs. Deductibles and co-pays remain your responsibility. We will continue to file insurance claims for you.
- Is Atlantic Internal Medicine Plus an insurance policy? No, this program is not an insurance policy and does not in any way replace or interfere with your current insurance whether or not it is private or Medicare.
